Reverse the Cycle

Reverse The Cycle is a non-profit organisation, targeting families and young people (aged 8yrs – 25yrs) from underprivileged and marginalised backgrounds, who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour and crime by using bicycle programmes. They also provide servicing, repairs and sales (at very reasonable prices). Contact them by calling 01977 625425.

Tiny Hands Baby Bank Yorkshire

Tiny Hands collect baby clothes, toiletries, equipment, cots, prams and toys that are pre-loved, and pass them on to families in need. Their service is provided for free and all donations go directly to the families that they support. Call 07754273207 for details.


Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation

A national charity supporting former miners and their families with help and advice to alleviate disadvantage arising from disability, ill health or financial hardship. Call 01977 703384 for the Pontefract office.

Armed Forces


The West Yorkshire branch of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association can offer support and advice to members of the armed forces, veterans and their families. They can be contacted by calling 0345 2 415 600.
